iOS 13 jailbreak for the iPhone X (A11 CPU) and lower has now released! Checkra1n is now available to jailbreak iOS 13 – iOS 13.6.1! Unfortunately though, this does not support for A12 or A13. A13 devices include the iPhone 11, 11 Pro, and 11 Pro Max. Devices powered by A12 are as follows: iPhone XS Max, XS, XR and 2018 iPad Pro models. There are also a lot of caveats with the first checkra1n iOS 13 jailbreak utility. Think of checkra1n’s first release as a developer preview jailbreak that you can test right now (provided you can live with the limitations).
iOS 13.6.1 Jailbreak Update
Jailbreak iOS 13.1 changes and features
Latest News: Apple has released iOS 13.6.1 to the general public. Thankfully, because of the way checkra1n was built, we can still jailbreak iOS 13.6.1 on supported devices! The steps are identical and nothing has changed from the procedure for jailbreaking iOS 13.6.1. We recommend following this tutorial in its entirety to jailbreak iOS 13.6.1 with ease on A11 and below.
The iPhone XS – iPhone 11 series are still limited to the existing iOS 13.5 unc0ver jailbreak (detailed below). The same applies to the A12-powered iPod touch and iPad models. If you happen to own one of these newer devices, we recommend visiting our iOS 13.5 jailbreak tutorial here (iOS 13.5.1 – iOS 13.6.1 are not supported).

A13 Jailbreak iOS 13
A12 – A13 devices have an iOS 13 jailbreak in the form of unc0ver for iOS 13.5. This release includes support for older devices as well. Unlike checkra1n, unc0ver is a semi untethered jailbreak. This means that you won’t need a computer to re-enable your iOS 13 jailbreak.
The only major limitation of unc0ver is that it’s only available for up to iOS 13.5 (it will not jailbreak iOS 13.6.1 like checkra1n will). If you either have a newer device, iPhone XS – iPhone 11, or you want a semi untethered jailbreak on iOS 13.5, follow either of our unc0ver jailbreak tutorials:
Install AltServer to Jailbreak 13.5 on Windows or Mac

In order to jailbreak iOS 13.5, we must first sideload unc0ver to our device. To do this, we’re going to use AltServer and AltStore. Thankfully, the process is relatively simple, just a little involved.
Due to differing steps for accomplishing the same net result on both Windows and macOS, you’ll need to follow the first set of steps that corresponds to your computer’s OS. Windows instructions load by default. If you’re on macOS, simply click the “Mac Steps” below to switch operating system instructions. The steps then rejoin later in the tutorial.
Windows Steps
- Step 1: This step is for Windows users only! You must download and install both iTunes and iCloud from Apple’s site. You cannot use the version of iTunes for the Microsoft Store. Links to both iCloud for Windows and the proper iTunes .exe can be found below.
- Step 2: Open iCloud for Windows and ensure that it you have at least iCloud Drive and Bookmarks checked within the application.
- Note: If you receive any errors trying to install either application, simply launch the “Add or remove programs” settings panel. You can access this panel by typing in “add or remove” to the right of the Start menu. Type “Apple” in the search field in the middle of the page. Click on each result, followed by “Modify” > “Repair” > “Next” for each piece of listed software.
- Step 3: Download AltServer from AltStore. Open the .zip and launch the AltInstaller and follow the on-screen prompts to install it. You may also have to allow the application access through your firewall the first time you launch it; again, follow on-screen prompts. After you’ve downloaded and installed everything up to this point, restart your computer.
- Step 4: Connect your iOS 13.5 device to your computer via USB. Open iTunes and ensure the connection is trusted. If your device isn’t listed and/or you don’t have the ability to backup or restore, you must trust the connection. In this instance, simply follow the on-screen prompts to do so.
- Step 5: Click the arrow next to the time in the lower right of your toolbar to expand the running services panel. Click the AltServer logo (it looks like a triangle). Next, hover your mouse over “Install AltStore” and click on your device from the pop-out menu.
- Step 6: Input your Apple ID when prompted. This information is neither collected nor stored, it’s merely passed to Apple’s servers for signing purposes.
Note: If you have two-factor authentication on your Apple ID, you’ll receive a notification on a trusted device. Allow the login and input the secure two-factor passcode.
